Denim Day is the last Wednesday of April which is also Sexual Awareness Month. People wear denim in support of sexual assault survivors and to protest the myths of why women and girls are raped.
The campaign begun as a protest in 1998 by the Women in the Italian Parliament by wearing jeans on the steps of the Supreme Court. The Italian Supreme Court later overturned the rape conviction.
