The HOPE Works Chat Line is a free and confidential service that provides help and support through a chat function over our website. It works just like instant messaging; you communicate by typing messages back and forth. You'll be chatting with a trained advocate.
Chat line services:
Support and information for survivors of sexual violence
Support and information for partners, friends, and family of survivors of sexual violence
Options counseling (What can I do after a sexual assault?)
Safety planning (physical, mental, and emotional)
Referrals to resources in Chittenden County, and/or resources in your area
Safety concerns and information:
You do not have put any information that can be used to identify you, as it is not required to speak with an advocate. Only include what is comfortable and safe for you.
You can end the conversation at any point. It is your choice!
Please be aware that we cannot guarantee your personal device is free from any spyware or other internet history tracking tools.
If for any reason you feel uncomfortable or unsafe using the chat line, you may contact us through our 24/7 free and confidential hotline at (802) 863.1236.
Using the chat line does not prohibit you from using the hotline. Both are here to support you!
